The Swaziland Homeopathy Project (SHP) began in 2008 and has progressively been moving towards establishing a locally sustainable, and affordable, integrated health service for the communities of Eswatini. The project started providing homeopathic health clinics to mainly women in rural areas, and it is now supporting over 10,000 patients of all ages and genders across 16 monthly rural clinics, 5 semi-urban and 5 community clinics
Committed to monitoring and evaluation, SHP created a database based on a scoring system of an individual's well being. By monitoring the effectiveness of the homeopathic treatment, patient demand and individual needs for each outreach and community clinic, our services can be optimized.
In 2015 SHP completed phase three of its development, where the focus was to build a wellness centre that would provide the necessary space and platform to continue its work and broaden its services so that patients have affordable access to all modalities of healthcare in one location. By February 2016 the centre was constructed and the clinics have been operating from this base in Mbabane since then.
SHP broadened its activities in 2016 and created a new project to protect endangered medicinal plants and develop new homeopathic remedies from these plants.
